It has been shown that the increased concentration of EGCG is at least 3 times to 137 times greater than the EGCG content in other green teas. Due to its increased antioxidant properties, it provides the same benefits as green tea to a larger degree and it has been shown to reduce hepatic glucose, triglyceride and total cholesterol levels. Similarly to the metabolic benefits of green tea, Matcha has been shown to enhance exercise-induced fat oxidation.
