Split ends need to be dealt with every few weeks. Go to the salon to get your hair trimmed and to fix your split ends. In between hair trimmings, start implementing these other factors that can help prevent or repair split ends.

  1. Sleep on a Silk Pillowcase

Compared to a cotton pillowcase, silk draws less moisture from your skin and hair. This is great for your skin because it will allow your skin to retain the serums and creams you’ve so diligently applied prior to bed. In addition it reduces the likelihood of drying out your hair because silk draws less moisture in from your hair. It also doesn’t cause as much friction as cotton, reducing the damage to your hair, so it won’t cause as much breakage or split ends.

If you want smooth, silky hair then choose a silk pillowcase to benefit your luscious locks.

  1. Shower with Some Sense

When you shower don’t use the hottest of water because this can seriously draw out the moisture in your hair causing it to be dry and brittle – the perfect storm for split ends. Don’t wash your hair everyday because it can strip the essential oils causing your hair to become dry.

After your shower, instead of rubbing rigorously with a towel, gently pat your hair with a microfiber towel instead.
